We’d like to take a moment to introduce our colleague across the border to the North: Stephanie Melnychuk is a patent/trademark associate at Oyen Wiggs Green & Mutala LLP in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her academic background, like many OUTDOORS IP contributors, is in hard sciences: she graduated with Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, with a B.S in Biochemistry and an M.S in Chemistry. She later earned her J.D from UBC. In her professional practice at Oyen Wiggs, Melnychuk has experience with Canadian, U.S, and other foreign intellectual property processes in a wide variety of industry fields, including (but not limited to) sporting goods and apparel. Melnychuk also contributes to Oyen Wiggs’ regular publication, patentable.com, where she recently published a hot take on the infringement potential of getting a tattoo of a trademarked logo. Check out that article here, along with patentable.com’s other publications.
