For the past thirteen years, the No Ivy League has partnered with Portland Parks and Recreation to remove invasive English ivy from Portland's parks, and to educate the public about the problems associated with overgrowth of invasive, non-native species. Their mission is to restore the native habitat of natural areas with efforts in removing invasive plants, youth development programs, environmental education, and community participation.
Earlier this month, contributors to OutdoorsIP took part in a volunteer work party with the League, and really enjoyed getting off the trails a bit, pulling and mulching English ivy and making room to breathe for an estimated 4,600 square feet of gorgeous forest!
If you or your company are interested in getting outdoors and assisting with this project, the No Ivy League meets first Wednesdays and first and third Saturdays at 8:45 a.m.
